Can you believe that October is nearly finished? Seems like time just picks up speed as the year goes along.
Tracy and I made a brief visit (long lunch "hour") on Friday to Stitches East. The first year was overwhelming; the second year was disappointing; and this year, it was smaller but maybe more interesting.
My purchases were few. I found a pattern for a sweater I might actually wear. I was intrigued by the Rowan Kidsilk Creation; and, following Tracy's lead, purchased a skein to try out. I believe this was the fastest scarf I have ever knit. Two hours tops.
I found some beautiful black and white alpaca at a booth where I also purchased this guy:
Be careful - he spits!
I bought some mink balls:
You'd think they'd be smaller, huh? (I've been waiting to use that joke for days!)
My afghan knitting is on hold, as my sweet dad asked if I would please knit a baby sweater for someone he works with. How could I say no to that?
I chose a simple Heirloom Cables Baby Sweater from Lion Brand.

I am also gearing up to test knit Joji's Little Poles, the smaller version of her wonderful Opposite Poles pattern.
I'm still having fun with the Fall decorating...
I have been coveting some of the great, seasonal Pottery Barn Pillows. This one:
And this one:
But you knitters out there know that I am going to need to make one of these myself:
Cute and easy, right?
A little shoutout to Lucky Knitter Mary who is celebrating a special birthday today. I hope you have a great one!
And I hope you all have a ghoulish week.
