I know, I know, I throw something out there and then forget to update you. First, the hat. For those of you RHONJ fans, here it is:
Cute, right? Even cuter on!
I think I did update you on the finished cabinet. I was just looking through some old posts and realized just how badly that old built-in really needed a facelift. If only they were that easy to come by in real life. Conversly, some things look better just a little beaten up. The River sign has been distressed and still lives against the window seat, unhung.
The porch panels are done and have been repainted since this photo. Lattice is gone, gone, gone.
As for knitting, a few more gnomes have been sprung to life. I completed a Quinnipiac Cowl but chose an entirely wrong tweed. It's okay, but it could have been much nicer if it wasn't so busy. I thought the Tahki Tara was soft and pretty in the skein, but it had way too much going on for this pattern.
I knit up a pair of Log Cabin Socks in Ultra Alpaca. Seems every time I make a pair, I end up giving them away. Why do socks make my feel look so fat? They really aren't. Honest.
In a fit of insanity, I cast on for a second Erin Afghan. I liked the first one so much that I had to make one for myself.
Just in case you didn't know, dogs cannot have grapes or raisins (or chocolate, onions, garlic or macadamia nuts). Joey and I spent the night in the doggie ER after he ate four red grapes. Vomiting was induced, and then 48 watchful hours were spent making sure he didn't start vomiting (the first sign of kidney failure). Never a dull moment...
Crazy urn mania has begun.
The orange pumpkins as well as the white...
I miss my little condo when I could go crazy with the mouse antics:
Maybe I'll find a way to use them again...
In the meantime,

Poor Joey! (Er.. I mean, Kim!) Freakin' dogs. Always eating shit. Speaking of that, I always try to console myself I don't have my mother-in-law's dog: he ate a poopy diaper while she was away at her daughter's house (a five-hour drive away), and then vomited it right back up in her car on the way home. In a rainstorm. (So no real open-window opportunity...) (Course I laughed my bahookie off... and still do.) Anyway. Where were we? Oh, yes: cute hat!

Lucky you posted a pic of the hat, or I would have had to have words as well! Great hat! I would totally buy that too!
I love the log cabin socks, I have made a couple of pairs of those too. Hence I can safely say it is the sock, not your feet, that are fat!

Hey, you have fat feet! Ha, only joking, I find mine look fat in hand-knitted socks too, what a strange phenomenon. In reality, fat feet should be the least of your worries with all those mice climbing up the stairs. I absolutely love the hat, very chic.

We did kind of give you a ration of "you know what" over NO picture of the hat... sorry, but it is super cute! I'm glad I got to see it.
You've been busy knitting. Love the socks. I love how handknit socks feel on my feet. They really are the most comfortable things.
Poor Joey, I hope he is okay. My dog used to love grapes, and never got sick, but then I read that they are not good for dogs and I don't give them to her anymore.

They said it doesnt affect all dogs, but if it does, it can be fatal. I think they just wanted my $250.

It's hard to imagine anyone on RHONJ wearing anything so cute! That hat is adorable.
I also love your new knits. But you know me and grey!
Glad that Joey is ok.

I may have to steal that hat! Too cute.
Love the distressed sign - well done.
You need to make me one that says woods...or boonies.
Glad Joey is still on the planet.

I don't know-how I missed this post, so even though this comment is rather late, I couldn't be so rude as to not thank you for the pic of The Hat. It is super adorable. The grey cowl and grey socks just round things out. Love them ALL.
The mice are pretty cute too :)

Oh no, poor Joey! Glad to hear that all ended well. Those kinds of trips to the vet can be very scary.
The cowl looks super cozy, and I LOVE those log cabin socks. Your first Erin afghan turned out so beautifully -- I completely understand wanting one of your very own.
You've been so busy! The panels turned out looking very classy.

I think the cowl looks wonderful! I like the pattern quite a bit but probably won't make one.
