Yep, that about sums it up. Feeling very unblogworthy lately. Work is busy. Haven't kept up with posting and have been a very sporadic commentor at best. I find myself falling asleep in front of the tv at 9:30 (a new record for a night owl such as myself).
There has been a slight bit of knitting. Soothing knitting. Mindless knitting. Chickadee Cowl by Kirsten Kapur done in a beautiful, neutral, fingering-weight yarn that I received a few years ago from Lin. I'm so glad that I saved it for so long because it turned out to be the perfect yarn for this project.
Still feeling as though I will never figure out how to decorate this room. So, I'm living with things on an angle (Thanks, Non-Knitting Coworker). Not actually hanging any pictures for fear of making a drastic mistake. And for sure not buying fabric for that window seat because, well...
Trying to decide if I like this paint color that looks great during the day, but rather green at night.
Wondering if I should just put the switch plates back on or paint the walls white. Bringing in different pieces that don't really match and trying to live with them because they please me.
All the while knowing the exact look I want and yet cannot seem to achieve. Thinking maybe it's time to just focus on the outdoors instead.
Speaking of outdoors (way to segue!), someone got a new playscape and can't quite get over the fact that it rained today and wetness means "no outside." "Hat on. C'mon, Kimmy! Outside!"
While other someones don't care if they ever see the great outdoors again.
Me? I'm just waiting for some inspiration.
Well! For feeling like you didn't have anything to post, you've posted heaps!!
I like the paint colour. I like the furniture that doesn't quite match - I think that can be a very effective decorating style.
I love the photo of the one who doesn't want to go outside, and to the one who does, don't worry, the weather will clear soon!

Well, you know that I'm going to say GO WITH THE WHITE! It just works with everything, trust me.
PS: Love little G and M - total love!

Is that Joey or Maggie? Such a cute picture! I totally hear you on the decorating thing. We STILL (five years) haven't hung certain painting for fear of putting them in the wrong place! Crazyness! That's why I love knitting - it just seems easier, and things get done. LOVE your cowl.

I've lived in my house 12 years and we still don't have window treatments in some rooms...but then again, we live in the country. The only thing that might get a thrill are the deer and the rabbits.

I understand how you feel but nothing you do is ever "unblogworthy" (tho I like the new word). Sometimes just every day stuff is worth sharing. The chickadee is gorgeous - love the understated color. And that little dog, omg - smooches to him!

Very classy cowl! I like the paint color, but if it's bugging you already...
What about a neutral shade that has more of a yellow tone (most tans are variations on yellow) rather than a green tone? Whatever you pick will be lovely, I'm sure, as you have impeccable taste.
That is one cute doggy. :-)

If you decide to repaint, you should pick one of the tones from that cowl - it's GORGEOUS! Perfect paring of yarn and pattern :-)
I'm with Jodi - if the paint is driving you nuts now, think about how much you'll hate it in a year or two. And we'd all hate for you to go on a paint-induced murderous rampage.
Personally, I think it's pretty. But I don't know I'd want to live with it (sorta like how I feel about Zachary Quinto)

I feel the same way. Wondering if the writing I'm doing is doing anyone any good at all. And you know, haven't I said all this stuff before? Or worse, hasn't someone ELSE said it and said it better?
That being said, if I had knitted that sweater, I would have written about it and sent it out over the AP wire. I think you need to make YOURSELF one! Adorable.

I will definitely be no help in the decorating department. I know what I like in pictures, but I have no idea how to achieve that in my actual home...
I like the wall color, just thought I'd throw that in :-)
Love the stitch used on that cowl! The meteorologist said snow is in our overnight forecast, I'd better dig out a cowl or two to wear around the house tonight and tomorrow!

The last photo needs to be framed.

If you aren't sure of the colour, repaint. Looks lovely in the day shade. Or maybe changing your lightbulbs or lamp shades will make it look nicer?? Ask the lighting store, the can maybe help you.
